The killer followed the two out to the lake and used the crowbar to attack them, then held Daniel underwater. The killer brought Eve back to her apartment and drowned her in the tub so it would look like Eve's husband snapped and killed Eve. Who's the killer? Well, it has to be Naomi. There were unidentified fingerprints on the garbage bag full of items used to kill Eve and Daniel, and since Eve's husband and Eve's co-worker have their fingerprints in their files, the fingerprints have to belong to someone else. Since it revolved around Daniel's car, and since Daniel died, there was only 1 person left.
